What do I need?

You need to be calling from a working and connected telephone line (i.e. hotel), call box or mobile phone either on a prepaid tariff or a monthly contract.

How do I make a call?

You simply dial the appropriate Voicenet free phone access number for the country you're in (click here to view access numbers), when prompted, enter your account number and pin together in one go, at the next prompt dial the destination number as normal. (If your account number and pin are not accepted, you may not have a touchtone on the telephone you are dialling from. Try keying the * (star) and then key in the full account number and pin again.

Do I need to enter my account number and pin?

Yes, as we don't know who it is dialling, you must enter your full account number and pin always.

What if my card is barred or my pin isn't accepted?

Simply call our free phone number on 0800 496 5566 from the UK or dial the appropriate access number in the country you are in and then dial 54321 instead of your account and pin and you will be connected directly to one of our operators free of charge.

Do I need to enter my account number and pin to make a second call?

No, simply press ## to end the call and you will be prompted to enter your next number.

Do hotels charge for dialling the Voicenet access numbers?

This is a difficult question to answer, it is best to enquire with the hotel what charges will be made for calls to local freephone numbers.

When abroad, do I have to dial the full international number?

When calling back to the United Kingdom, you can dial as if you were in the UK, the full international code (0044) is not required. All other international destinations require dialling 00 and then the country code.

What are the calling periods?

Our call rates are either flat rate and apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the lower per minute tariffs or otherwise on the per second tariff, three periods apply: Standard - apply Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm; Economy - apply Monday to Friday 6pm to 8am; Weekend - apply midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.

Will I be charged for any calls made abroad in a phone booth or on a mobile?

It is best to check with the network operator to find out if there are any charges abroad. Some call boxes require a coin to be inserted in order to make any call.
