What do I need?
You need a working and connected
telephone line.
|
|
|
|
How do I make a call?
Once your account is up and running and
your number(s) registered with our
service, depending on what access method you are on, you simply either dial
as usual if you chose to register with our CPS
service and are with BT or prefix all numbers dialled with 1820 (BT
customers) if you are not on CPS. For cable and prepaid customers the
service is accessed by first dialling 0800 496 4496 (freecall) and
when prompted entering the desired number. On prepaid accounts you get
informed of your balance each call you make.
|
|
|
What
about line rental and phone number?
You retain your
phone number and continue
paying your line rental to your telephone line provider (e.g. BT).
You will receive a separate bill for the cost of your calls from
Voicenet. However it is worth making a call to your line provider
to check
that your not paying for services you don't require thus lowering
your line rental.
|
|
|
What
if I don't have a touch-tone phone?
If you are a monthly
customer using CPS or 1820 access you can use our service from a
non touch-tone telephone although dialling will be slower. Prepaid customers
on the freecall access will not be able to use
our service using a non touch-tone telephone.
|
|
|
|
What are the
calling periods?
Our call rates are either flat rate
and apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the lower per minute
tariffs or otherwise on the per second tariff, three periods apply: Standard
- apply Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm; Economy - apply Monday to Friday 6pm to 8am; Weekend
- apply midnight Friday to midnight Sunday.
|
|
|
Does
my telephone line provider charge for any calls I make through
Voicenet?
All calls made
through Voicenet will not be
charged by your line provider (e.g. BT or Cable). For those with
cable providers check whether they make charges for dialling freephone numbers (some do).
|
|
|
What do I do
if I have a PABX system, can I still use the service?
Yes. There is no need for any modifications to
your system as we will connect you to our CPS service (click
here for more info) or re-program your least cost routing
accordingly at our expense.
|
|
|
How
do Voicenet keep its rates so low?
We are able to
remain competitive because of our efficient use of suppliers.
Being a privately owned company we have no shareholders to answer
to and our rates are not regulated.
