What
if I have troubles using my Voicenet service?
In the unlikely event of problems
using your Voicenet account, check the listings below to see if
there are any simple solutions to your problems. If you are still having
problems please contact once of our technical support team free
phone on 0800 496 5566 for more information and help.

Make
sure you are using a touch tone phone if you are using our
020 or 0800 access. Lift the receiver and
press 5, if you hear a constant tone, your phone is touch
tone. If you hear a sequence
of clicks your phone is on pulse dial, which is
incompatible with this access. You may be able to switch your phone to touch
tone (there may be a switch on the base of the phone switch
it to tone or T). |
 |
If
your number is withheld or you are ex-directory and using
our 020 or 0800 access, we will not be able to recognise where your calling from. BT customers have the option of
dialling 1470
before the access number, this will unblock the number for
that call. Alternatively, call BT on 0800 800 150 or 150
direct from your BT phone line to arrange for your number to
be discharged
permanently. If you're not with BT you will need to check
your options with your telephone service provider. |
 |
If
your service only allows incoming calls, you will need to
contact your telephone line provider to have this service
lifted in order to use the our service. |
 |
If
you use Voicenet by dialling the 1820 access code, please
remember to include the full area code when calling national
or local numbers (i.e. 020, 0870) and 00 for international
calls.

How
do I know the rate at which I will be charged for non-geographic
numbers?
UK numbers beginning
with '08' and some
'07' (which are not mobiles) are
non-geographic numbers, you will charged at BT standard rates.
UK numbers beginning
with '09' are
premium rate numbers and can be priced anything between 10p and
£1.50 per minute.
Calls to those type of numbers will be charged at standard BT rates.
